PARAMEDICAL STAFF RECRUITMENT

While doctors and nurses are the most visible faces of this complex enterprise, the Para Medic Staff (PMS), though in the background, is a vital component of this important system. The term ‘paramedic staff’ means a variety of individuals including emergency medical technicians, nursing staff, radiographer technicians, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, dental technicians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, dieticians, and many more who play a key role in any health care system. PMS is the largest working group in a health care set-up and is known to play a major role in the system’s success. Paramedics are employed by a variety of different organizations, and the services they provide may occur under differing organizational structures, depending on the part of the world. A new and evolving role for paramedics involves the expansion of their practice into the provision of relatively basic primary health care and assessment services. ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN
The Anesthesia Technician assists the anesthesia team prior to, during, and following patient procedures in various Operating rooms. Individuals in this position are proficient in the sterilization, maintenance, packing, and resupplying of the most complex anesthesia supplies and equipment in the operating room, and when available, responds to codes with anesthesia. The Anesthesia Technician checks and supplies anesthesia carts and machines, checks and replaces anesthesia gas tanks, disassembles used anesthesia equipment, disinfects machines and supply carts, replaces used products and prepares transducers for invasive hemodynamic monitoring. This position has significant patient contact while assisting in transport and procedures. This position works collaboratively with Anesthesia, Nursing staff, and off-site resources.
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
A Physiotherapist work as an autonomous practitioner in providing physiotherapy assessments, diagnosis and treatments to a wide range of musculoskeletal patients. Maintains up to date physiotherapy records in line with professional standards. Physiotherapist uses evidence-based practice and specialist skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. Liaoning with other health care professionals to provide the optimum management of patients. Attends and take part in education and training as required. Also participates in activities to further develop own development and other service developments. Helps to maintain and improve the high standards of the company.
OPERATING ROOM TECHNICIAN
The Operating Room Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of all patients under his/her care. Included within this assignment is the responsibility for ensuring effective communication with the charge nurse, the patient, staff, physicians, and other hospital departments. An operation theatre technician will be able to prepare the operation theatre, maintain equipment, sterilization, personal hygiene, and assist the nurses and surgeons in various procedures during and after the surgery such as filling in the forms.
X-RAY TECHNICIAN
X-ray Technician creates X-ray images of parts of human body to help physicians diagnose and treat various illnesses and injuries as accurately as possible. X-ray technician works under the guidance and supervision of Radiologist. They explain medical imaging procedure, prepare X-ray room & patient for procedure, operate & maintain X-ray machine, record radiological supplies, prepare report & document under Radiologist’s guidance, maintain records and carry out other administrative jobs as needed in the department.
RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST
Radiologic technologists are the health care professionals who perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-ray examinations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans and computed tomography (CT) scans. Some of them specialize in specific techniques such as cardiovascularinterventional radiography, mammography or sonography. Radiologic technologists are responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. They work closely with radiologists, the physicians who interpret medical images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury. For the images to be interpreted correctly by the radiologist, the imaging examination must be performed properly by a radiologic technologist.
MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Responsible for operation of the laboratory. Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology. Report test results following clinic protocols alerting providers and/or nurses about abnormal results. Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, ensure appropriate sampling and maintain accurate record keeping. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment. Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control. Serve as a back-up to the Lab Manager as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned.
DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN
Also referred to as renal dialysis technician, hemodialysis technician, or nephrology technician. Dialysis Technician operates machines and perform dialysis on patients with acute or chronic kidney failure. They work under the supervision of physicians and nurses, primarily in hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers/ facilities, some nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities. They are responsible for the operation, cleaning, and sterilization of the dialysis machines. Dialysis Technicians give patients important medical, technical, social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses, doctors, and other medical staff.
EEG TECHNICIAN
An electroencephalographic (EEG) technician, also known as an electroneurodiagnostic (END) technologist, is a trained medical professional who uses specialized equipment to locate brain abnormalities. He or she works under the supervision of doctors and neurologists. EEG tech job duties include performing EEG tests when requested by a physician. As part of the testing process, an EEG tech will gather a patient’s medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure. During testing, the EEG technician monitors the patient’s status and notes any abnormalities. After testing is complete, they report their findings to the patient’s doctor for further analysis. EEG technicians generally work in a hospital or other testing facility.
MEDICAL RECORD TECHNOLOGIST
This is technical work involving supervisory and administrative duties. Under the direction of the Health Records Administrator, the incumbent maintains specialized Health Records functions and services. Responsibilities also include the day-today operations and supervision of staff of the central Health Records and Admitting Section.
NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST
The Nuclear Medicine Tech is responsible for the daily operation of the Imaging Section. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling and daily work assignments, and serves as a resource for Nuclear Medicine Technologists. The Nuclear Medicine Tech suggests changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinates training and development of the Imaging Specialists, keeping them advised of technological changes. The incumbent identifies cost savings, and assures that technical operations stay within the targeted budget. In addition to departmental oversight, the Nuclear Medicine Tech demonstrates mastery of all Hospital or Clinical Level Imaging competencies. The Nuclear Medicine Tech performs technical nuclear medicine examinations within the section. The incumbent works independently, performing routine, complex and specialized nuclear medicine procedures and/or PET imaging Work is performed under the general supervision the Radiology Manager and/or Supervisor.
