ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN

The Anesthesia Technician assists the anesthesia team prior to, during, and following patient procedures in various Operating rooms. Individuals in this position are proficient in the sterilization, maintenance, packing, and resupplying of the most complex anesthesia supplies and equipment in the operating room, and when available, responds to codes with anesthesia. The Anesthesia Technician checks and supplies anesthesia carts and machines, checks and replaces anesthesia gas tanks, disassembles used anesthesia equipment, disinfects machines and supply carts, replaces used products and prepares transducers for invasive hemodynamic monitoring. This position has significant patient contact while assisting in transport and procedures. This position works collaboratively with Anesthesia, Nursing staff, and off-site resources.

The Operating Room Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of all patients under his/her care. Included within this assignment is the responsibility for ensuring effective communication with the charge nurse, the patient, staff, physicians, and other hospital departments. An operation theatre technician will be able to prepare the operation theatre, maintain equipment, sterilization, personal hygiene, and assist the nurses and surgeons in various procedures during and after the surgery such as filling in the forms.

RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST

Radiologic technologists are the health care professionals who perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-ray examinations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans and computed tomography (CT) scans. Some of them specialize in specific techniques such as cardiovascularinterventional radiography, mammography or sonography. Radiologic technologists are responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. They work closely with radiologists, the physicians who interpret medical images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury. For the images to be interpreted correctly by the radiologist, the imaging examination must be performed properly by a radiologic technologist.

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Responsible for operation of the laboratory. Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology. Report test results following clinic protocols alerting providers and/or nurses about abnormal results. Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, ensure appropriate sampling and maintain accurate record keeping. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment. Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control. Serve as a back-up to the Lab Manager as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned.

DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN

Also referred to as renal dialysis technician, hemodialysis technician, or nephrology technician. Dialysis Technician operates machines and perform dialysis on patients with acute or chronic kidney failure. They work under the supervision of physicians and nurses, primarily in hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers/ facilities, some nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities. They are responsible for the operation, cleaning, and sterilization of the dialysis machines. Dialysis Technicians give patients important medical, technical, social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses, doctors, and other medical staff.

EEG TECHNICIAN

An electroencephalographic (EEG) technician, also known as an electroneurodiagnostic (END) technologist, is a trained medical professional who uses specialized equipment to locate brain abnormalities. He or she works under the supervision of doctors and neurologists. EEG tech job duties include performing EEG tests when requested by a physician. As part of the testing process, an EEG tech will gather a patient’s medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure. During testing, the EEG technician monitors the patient’s status and notes any abnormalities. After testing is complete, they report their findings to the patient’s doctor for further analysis. EEG technicians generally work in a hospital or other testing facility.

NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST

The Nuclear Medicine Tech is responsible for the daily operation of the Imaging Section. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling and daily work assignments, and serves as a resource for Nuclear Medicine Technologists. The Nuclear Medicine Tech suggests changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinates training and development of the Imaging Specialists, keeping them advised of technological changes. The incumbent identifies cost savings, and assures that technical operations stay within the targeted budget. In addition to departmental oversight, the Nuclear Medicine Tech demonstrates mastery of all Hospital or Clinical Level Imaging competencies. The Nuclear Medicine Tech performs technical nuclear medicine examinations within the section. The incumbent works independently, performing routine, complex and specialized nuclear medicine procedures and/or PET imaging Work is performed under the general supervision the Radiology Manager and/or Supervisor.
